Food on the Circle

As my Fifth Form year begins to come to a close, the amount of exams and homework is definitely increasing, but the warm weather makes it all worth it. As a celebration for finishing this year's Advanced Placement (AP) exams, two friends and I ordered some food to de-stress.

The heart and soul of Groton is the Circle. With the Chapel and Schoolhouse towering over you, there is no better place to catch a sunset or hang out when the weather is nice. Especially in Spring Term, the Circle is filled with students laying around, playing spike ball, or throwing a frisbee. Music plays on dozens of speakers as students talk about their days. I especially enjoy going to the Circle after track practice to relax and take advantage of the sunshine.

For the past two weeks, however, I had a substantial amount of work, so I was not able to hang out on the Circle as much as I would have liked. Therefore, after finishing my AP Biology Exam, my last AP exam of the semester, I decided to order Indian food! We got some naan bread, curry, and samosas, and it was delicious. As someone who does not eat Indian food very often, it was great to try some new flavors!

Once our order arrived, we decided to eat it on the Circle—it was a crisp spring afternoon, and the sunset was just beginning to form. Soon, a couple of other friends joined us, and a group of us stayed until it was dark out.

There is nothing more Grotonian than spending an evening at the Circle. It is the perfect place to relax and catch up with your friends. I am excited for the next month at Groton—I am certain that I will spend every afternoon outside, with not only the best weather but the best company too.
