First Road Win of the Season

Peter Fry
The Boys Thirds Basketball Team won their first road game of the season -- just down the road, at Lawrence Academy.  Fourth Former Alex Brown was our team's scoring leader again, tallying 13 points that included one sweet 3-pointer and a couple of free-throws.  The game was actually quite close for most of the 32 minutes of regulation time.  Lawrence had some players who could hit shots from outside, and as soon as we started building a bigger lead, they'd narrow the margin.  Fortunately, our boys continued to play tenaciously for the entire game.  And thanks to Noah Bay, Jack Wang, and Josh Golden, each of whom grabbed four rebounds, we managed to get possession of the ball at a number of critical moments.   Patty Eldredge was super-sharp at the free throw line, hitting six in a row later in the game to help us build a more comfortable lead.  Other scorers included Malcolm Fry (11 points), Ziggy Bereday (5 points), Luke Romano (4 points), Josh Poulin (4 points), Noah Bay (3 points), Josh Golden (2 points), and Hugh Carlin (1 point).  We're hoping to carry this winning momentum into our other two games this week: Wednesday's home contest versus Fay, followed by Friday's game in Concord at Fenn.
