Welcome to Groton Athletics

The collaboration and cooperation demanded by team sports, the growth and development that stems from testing athletic talents and skills directly against those of others, and the development of personal character forged in competitive games and races has always been part of Groton athletics.

Hence, the athletic program strives to develop every student's physical capabilities and to develop such qualities as courage, confidence, self-discipline, and sportsmanship.

At Groton, there are teams for all ages and abilities. All sports offer a varsity and JV team, and most offer a Thirds team, as well, allowing the program to cater to highly experienced athletes, as well as to novice players. At all levels, Groton coaches, most of whom are full-time faculty members, are committed to teaching the necessary skills for both improved team and individual performance. Many Groton coaches have played a sport(s) at the collegiate level, either in Division I or Division III, and serve as great resources for Groton students who have aspirations of playing at the next level. Each year, numerous Groton students are recruited and go on to play for collegiate teams. Others have "walked on" to his/her college team and have become valuable contributors.

Always call 978-448-7533/7247 for latest updates.

The hallmark of a Groton education is the development of the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—to one's full capacity to achieve and to serve. More than ever before, superior athletic facilities act as necessary tools in this process.
