Thirds Football bested by Cardigan

Playing their first home game of the season and on an unseasonably warm day, the thirds football team lost to Cardigan, 20-6. After scoring once early in the game on Buck Sweep in which Freshman quarterback Patty Eldgridge kept the ball for the touchdown, the Zebras were unable to overcome a tough opponent and a handful of technical penalties. While the offense was able to move the ball down the field, the end zone eluded the players on several occasions.
If there were an MVP for the team on this day, it would have to be fullback Benson Han (ii). Han carried the ball for 111 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per carry. He was strong defensively, too, with a pair of unassisted tackles. Safety Griffin Elliott (iii) pullin in a total of four unassisted tackles, while Josh Poulin (iii) and Eldridge each had three. Also noteworthy defensively were freshmen Kyle Toce, Ben Reyes and Luke Romano.
