Great playing, still looking for the W; 1-2 v Rivers

A grey chilly day at Groton with moments of sun – lots of fun with all teams at home plus an admissions open house with loads of visitors on campus. Today saw a different Groton team on the field. From the first whistle, the Groton girls were completely focused, showing loads of heart and determination – first to the ball, great passing, solid defense, speedy attack. Ishana Das put up the first tally of the game when she banged in a rebound from a Freddie Tobeason shot. In spite of other opportunities and fierce play, the girls could not answer the next two goals scored by Rivers, but the coaches were proud of the way the girls played, and the girls were justifiably pleased with themselves. We were missing a couple of key players, and everyone stepped up to fill in for them.
