NESPITT Invitational at Choate

For the second straight year, Groton's players earned berths at the New England Prep School Invitational Tennis Tournament, hosted at Choate's beautiful outdoor facility.

Señor Conner welcomed Sam Girian, Nico Davidoff, Gabe Scholl, Andrew Yang, Aaron Jin, and Roan Guinan to his house at 5:15 a.m. to load up and begin the road trip to Wallingford, CT. It was a full day of great tennis, with Groton winning many matches.

In the "A" singles draw, Sam Girian won his first round, lost his second, and then won three straight matches to win the consolation draw. His final victory was against the #1 player from Belmont Hill School. At #2, Gabe Scholl won all his matches until the finals, where he lost in a hard-fought match. In doubles, Nico Davidoff and Andrew Yang won two matches to earn a spot in the finals, while Roan Guinan and Aaron Jin also played well in the doubles flight, winning and losing some tight matches. It was a great day for Groton tennis.
