Meiji Shrine & Harajuka

Shrine, Shopping, and more
For Day 12 of the Groton Jazz Band Japan GEO, we had a later start to our morning. We met in the lobby at around 9:45 and departed for a day of sightseeing. We arrived at the Meiji Shrine and spent until 11:50, exploring the shrine and the surrounding forest. We then went to the Harajuku District and explored on our own, getting lunch at different locations. This shopping area gave a lot of options for both food and clothing, enabling us to do pretty much whatever we wanted. I personally went to a revolving sushi restaurant called Kamakura, and then to a few stores nearby. After we regrouped at 2:30, we went to the Imperial Palace East Gardens and followed it up with a group dinner at a buffet with pasta, fish, sausage, and more. We returned to the hotel and had some free time before check in at 9:00. I spent the time exploring the Diver City mall and sang karaoke with friends. Tomorrow we look to and early start for another sightseeing day.
