Minato Mirai Super Big Band

6/20: today we embarked on a four hour Shinkansen ride from Hiroshima back to Tokyo. On the train ride, most people caught up on sleep. In Tokyo, we visited a luxury shopping mall and ate Japanese Italian food with salad, prosciutto ham, bolognese, then tiramisu! After checking into our hotel — Nikko Daiba, we grabbed our instruments that arrived in the truck, and played with Minato Mirai Super Big Band at the Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall. We had a brief 30 minute cultural exchange, drove back to the hotel, and checked in after an individual dinner (though most people went to Family Mart as it was 10pm and most restaurants were closed).  “Today was probably my favorite day so far, because of the Super Big Band’s enthusiasm and the way they grooved hard throughout the concert, from Machete, their first song, to our joint performance of September”— Sophia
