A long half against a strong Nobles squad, 0-7

Cold, gray, and getting colder and grayer as the afternoon wore on. The first half of the game was solid. A perennially strong Nobles squad took the lead at about the ten-minute mark, but Groton played with them competitively through the half. Nobles scored their second goal five minutes into the half, and the wheels slowly, then fully, came off. Nobles scored five goals in twelve minutes from about the nineteen-minute mark. There were some very bright spots in today’s match, but this game takes a team effort, 60 minutes of hard work, and communication.
