Augmented JV Squad Loses Tough Battle

Cardigan brought an undefeated team down to Groton and had a fight on their hands to maintain their unblemished record.  Cardigan led by a goal at halftime, but Groton won the third to earn a lead of their own headed into the final frame.  The squads exchanged goals in the final frame before the Cougars put the game on ice with under 2 minutes to play.  Wilson Thors was pivotal for the Zebras, tallying 3 goals and dominating on face-offs.  Quinn Isenstadt played extremely well in the cage, thwarting many Cardigan scoring bids, especially in the second half.  Wes Turner, battling his alma mater, was strong on both ends of the field from his midfield position.
