Groton sweeps Lincoln and NCDS in first Race of the season!

Groton girls crew had a great first race down in Providence, RI against Lincoln School and Newton Country Day, both teams in the NEIRA league. The course was 1500m on the Seekonk River with a heavy headwind, making for some long races. Fourth boat beat both teams by the widest margin, pulling out early and continuing to lengthen their lead the whole way. Third boat also had a great race, pulling out early and finishing 13 seconds ahead of NCDS. Second boat had an excellent first race pushing their race plan to the max and finishing 14 seconds ahead of NCDS and 26 seconds ahead of Lincoln. First boat had a tentative race and waited until the sprint to push themselves ahed of both other first boats. A great day!
