Beautiful Day For Tennis

It was a warm and sunny day, perfect for an afternoon affair on the tennis courts. The Groton girls hosted Thayer, and fun was had by all.

Doubles got off to a strong start, with Groton's #1 duo securing a victory. #2 and #3 doubles were hard-fought, with Thayer making some excellent adjustments to stay in the match. Groton would ultimately take all three points.

Singles was an impressive showing for Groton hitters. #1 Singles finished first, and although the score was one-sided, the young Thayer player showed she may be a presence in the ISL for years to come.

#2 and #4 were next to finish. Groton showed an offensive assault in both matches, with big serves and backhands leading to wins. #3, #5, and #6 were wars of attrition. Thayer plays were remarkably consistent, forcing the Groton girls to adjust their tactics to pick up the win.

Both teams displayed wonderful sportsmanship and fought to the end.

Next up is a battle with Tabor and a date with Santoro's pizza.
