Groton Stomps Rivers

In a commanding performance against the formidable Rivers team, Groton showcased their prowess on the ice during a heated I.SL. matchup. The first period witnessed Rivers' Carter Meyer scoring at 5:37, momentarily giving them the lead. However, Groton responded in the second period as KJ Ni found the back of the net at 13:45, assisted by Zach Baker and Allen Fang. The turning point came in the third period when Groton's power play got the go-ahead game winner. Harrison Freelove capitalized on the opportunity at 5X4, scoring at 7:57 with assists from Owen Cronan and Alejandro Hassan. Groton's goaltender, Ethan Ramonetti, played a pivotal role in the victory, facing 29 shots and allowing only one goal. Despite Rivers' solid performance, Groton's strategic plays and outstanding goaltending led them to a well-deserved 3-1 victory, highlighting their dominance on the ice. The Zebras finished January with seven wins and look to add another win on Friday at home against I.S.L. rival St. Mark's.
