RL Takes Down Zebras

In a thrilling I.S.L. matchup, the Roxbury Latin team faced off against Groton School, ending in a 3-1 victory for RL. The first period saw an early lead for RL as Jake Popeo netted an early 1st period. However, Groton responded when IV former Connor Wig's shot from the blue line found the back of the net and tied the score 1-1 with a goal at 16:57. The second period saw RL reclaiming the lead, courtesy of Joe Meade, who capitalized on assists from Jake Novak and Jake Popeo at 11:54. As the intensity heightened in the third period, RL extended their lead with an empty-net goal at 0:58. Both goaltenders, Ethan Ramonetti of Groton and Evan Zhang of RL, showcased remarkable performances, but Zhang emerged victorious with 24 saves out of 25 shots, while Ramonetti faced 30 shots and conceded 2 goals. Both teams played a hard fought game. The Zebras look to rebound against Rivers School on Wednesday to finish play for the month of January.
