And the season is underway!

After four days of practice, a young JV squad took to the ice at home to play Governor's. The high scoring is a result of both teams having novice goalies who have been in pads for only one practice until the season opener! Ours, Lena Aloise, was a star! Though Govs scored three quick goals, Lena dug in and never quit, figuring out how to respond to shots and skirmishes in front of the net, with a huge smile on her face throughout. The team, as a whole, improved from one period to the next - in the first period each of the five skaters on the ice did her own thing; by the end of the game, all were more and more aware of where teammates were and looked for passes (both given and received) and scoring opportunities. Marked improvement throughout the game - what a great start to the season! Next up, is Govs again, next Wednesday at their house.
