Groton vs. Middlesex

Groton came up against a determined and organized Middlesex team that looked to dictate and stretch play almost from the first whistle.  Their energy and press resulted in a well worked goal in just the sixth minute against the Zebras, who scrambled a bit to try to adjust to the speed of play and overlapping runs as Middlesex looked to build on their lead.  Groton held firm until the half and began the second with more intensity as they pushed for an equalizer.  Unfortunately, following a wonderful diving save from Sixth Former Ben Milner, Middlesex managed to add another in the ensuing goalmouth scramble.  A breakaway goal for Middlesex in the 52^nd minute sealed their victory, despite some late Groton pushes to attack Middlesex’s final third more fluidly.  Up next: Nobles at home on 10/18.
