Season Opener

On an extremely windy day in Andover, the Groton players competed well against the always-strong home team. Groton almost got an early point when Elizabeth Girian and Sobenna Egwuekwe forced a tie-breaker in their doubles match but there opponents pulled out the breaker so Andover took a 3 - 0 lead into singles. Girian and Amelia Lee had close singles matches too, but only Gloria Hui managed to actually win one and even that took a tie-breaker. The scoreboard did not go Groton's way today, but the level of play was high and that bodes well for the season ahead.
