Battle of the Zeebs

Back in the day, Groton had black and white football uniforms with a plethora of black and white stripes.  Opponents would speak pejoratively of the Groton Zebras.  Eventually we adopted this supposably ornery beast as our mascot.  What I don't know is why Middlesex School adopted the same animal as their mascot, but they did so.  On Saturday, two of the few schools with zebras as mascots will go head to head in the NEPSAC field hockey tournament.  Go Zebras!  The Groton kind!

INTERVIEWS
The fall term is concluding tomorrow after a week full of exams.  We do not usually host visitors during this period because tour guides need time for their studies, but we have been interviewing as much as possible because the demand is high.  While some December dates are still available, we just opened the online interview scheduling program for the first half of January.  If you have not already visited us, please complete your Candidate Profile, and book your tour and interview slot.  For the past two years, we could not interview every applicant because we simply ran out of time.

People who would like to request an interview via Zoom may complete this request form.  We will try to satisfy as many of these requests as possible, but at this point we must resort to employing a waiting list for these remote interviews.  I recommend proceeding with the application and supplying us with other pieces of the application soon.  We will be interviewing remotely and in person through the application deadline of January 15, and if the demand is high we will interview after the deadline too.

AFFORDABILITY & FINANCIAL AID WEBINAR
At 7 p.m. ET on December 7, we will host our Affordability & Financial Aid Webinar.  Topics include our GRAIN initiative which led Groton to become the least expensive of the top boarding schools and employ an admission and enrollment process that is "beyond need-blind."  We do not consider a family's financial situation when making admission decisions, and financial aid extends beyond tuition to support multiple areas of school life.  The majority of the session will be a Q & A session in which families can ask us questions about the finer points about the financial aid application process. Please register here.

THE HOLIDAY AHEAD
For those of you celebrating Thanksgiving, enjoy your time with friends and family!

Thank you for your interest in Groton!
