Early September Report

Our students began their first week of classes on Monday, and we in admissions are looking forward to greeting prospective students. In the first half of September admission counselors are often on the road. We have already held admission events in Georgia, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey and New York. Director of Admission Jamie Funnell heads to Asia next week, and many more events will follow in the months ahead. BUT, many of us are waiting for applicants to visit our campus right now.

In the last few years, highly selective schools have seen a trend that concerns us. Increasingly, applicants are waiting longer to schedule their interviews, and increasingly they are being disappointed when all of the interview slots have been taken. I encourage prospective students to visit early. Interviewers are fresh and energized from their summer break. Come see us now!

If you would like to register for the traditional tour and interview or remote interview via Zoom, please complete a candidate profile. You might also consider scheduling a group tour. We will be holding an Open House on September 30 and we still have spots available for those who would like to attend. Student-Led Information Sessions will take place via Zoom and these are great ways to learn our students perspectives on Groton. If you would like to see what some of our students have been up to this summer, check out our student blogs, Zebra Tales.

Good luck as you begin the busy process of researching, visiting, and applying to schools!

All the best,

Ian Gracey
