Basketball at Bates College
How did Groton prepare you to play in college?
Groton prepared me by helping me get used to a college-type practice and game schedule. In college, I get one day off a week from athletics. I have to balance my work and a variety of other things at the same time, just as I did at Groton. Groton also helped me prepare for college athletics because all the coaches, staff, and trainers created an atmosphere that is similar to a college athletics experience.

What is your favorite memory from your Groton athletic career?
Finally beating St. Marks in basketball at home my junior year. That game had probably the biggest crowd I have seen a Groton basketball game, and the best part was when we won and the entire student section rushed the court.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to play a sport in college?
You can always get the recruiting process started yourself. This means contacting coaches of schools you are interested in by emailing them and starting a dialogue. You can always send highlight films or game films to show them who you before they see you.
