Groton’s JV squash team averages ten players, who train for ninety minutes each day on four of the school’s twelve courts. Training focuses on the physical, technical, and strategic parts of the game. Frequent competitions give players the opportunity to improve in the standings. The JV team benefits enormously from the support and advice of the varsity coaches, who work with our players on their technique. At Groton, students in any form (grade) can play JV. While squash is an individual sport, our strategy relies on a very compact, tight-knit team that communicates well.
