Squash is one of the most popular winter sports at Groton School, and the program caters to both the keenly competitive players and to the casual recreational squash player.
The program subdivides about forty students into varsity, junior varsity, and thirds teams. Our terrific facility of twelve glass-backed courts, designed for optimal match viewing, allows us to maximize the number of students who can participate in the program. Our thirds team is given special instruction in larger groups and plays inter-school matches weekly. Besides having a lot of daily court time, the program also emphasizes fitness and sportsmanship.
We are one of the few programs in New England that has taken players who started in our thirds program, without any previous squash experience, to college-level squash.
