Groton's track and field team is made up of individuals who strive to achieve their personal best. The team heads to the Ayer High School's track three times a week (a five-minute drive) and also trains on campus, taking advantage of Groton's acreage and surrounding trails. The team has a mix of field and running athletes. An ongoing joke among participants is that they belong not to a track team but to a "track family." The team competes in the ISTA (Independent School Track Association) and New England Prep School Track Association (NEPSTA) Division III.
