Coach DiSarcina started at shortshop for three years at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, but left early to sign with the Chicago White Sox. A fourteenth-round pick, he earned the Midwest League's Best Infield Arm in 1992 and was the MVP of his Florida State League team in 1993. One 1993 highlight was making the Florida State League All-Star team and tagging Roger Clemens for a double in a spring training game.
In 1994, Glenn was a teammate of Michael Jordan’s on the Birmingham Barons, the AA affiliate of the White Sox. He also played for former Red Sox manager Terry Francona for three years in the White Sox minor league system. After playing for the AAA Nashville Sounds in 1997, Glenn retired from baseball due to a nerve injury in his throwing shoulder. Coach DiSarcina was fortunate to play and learn from some of the most notable athletes of our time, including not only Jordan, but also Bo Jackson and Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk.
