Standout Performances on National Latin Exam

Groton’s young classicists excelled once again this year on the National Latin Exam, with 80 percent of Latin students receiving cum laude recognition or higher, and 60 percent of those students earning either maxima cum laude or summa cum laude. Five students performed flawlessly on the exam, earning a perfect score.

Earning a perfect score on the 2018 National Latin Exam were Samarth Agrawal '21, Christian Carson '18, Jack Ehrgott '22, Ademola Ogunsanya '19, and Brian Xiao '19. In addition, the National Latin Exam Committee recognized Christian Carson, Marianne Lu '19, Sophie Park '19, and Charlie Sun '18 for achieving summa cum laude for four consecutive years.

On the National Greek Exam, Andrew Porter '20 received a blue ribbon for his superior work, while nearly all Groton students enrolled in Ancient Greek earned scores of distinction.

Congratulations to our Latin and Greek scholars and the teachers who inspire them.
