Zebras sweep at Fresh Pond

The Groton girls' cross country squad improved to 5-1 in the ISL on Saturday with wins over Brooks, Milton, and host BB&N. There were tough battles at the front of the pack, with Wren trading places with Brooks' top finisher from wire to wire en route to a virtual deadheat finish in 20:20. Aisling similarly battled BB&N's top two runners throughout the entire race, earning a 6th place overall finish and a career PR. Lucy, Katie, and Marianne finished within 15 seconds of each other, and each outpaced their counterparts on the BB&N squad by one place to secure the win over the Knights, 26-29. Though Milton's top runner ran away from the field, our varsity pack outpaced the rest of the Milton squad to win 23-32.

After three away races to open the season, the girls are looking forward to racing at home next Saturday, when we'll welcome St. George's and Thayer to the Circle.
