Sunshine and Victory!

The Groton Girls returned to the court with energy and excitement, ready to face off against a talented Tabor Academy team. With sunshine, warm temperatures, and a spirited atmosphere, both teams showcased their best tennis.

Groton set the tone early in doubles, making key adjustments to outplay their determined opponents. Strong serving and impressive net play were crucial to their success, as the Zeebs won all three doubles matches, securing a commanding lead going into singles play.

As the singles matches began, the energy from the growing crowd intensified. Groton cruised to convincing victories at the 3rd and 6th singles spots, bringing them closer to the overall win. But there was still more to be decided. At #5 Singles, Groton battled through a tough third-set tiebreaker, using smart, calculated attacks to secure the match.

The attention then shifted to #1 Singles, where Tabor’s talented 9th-grade star pushed Groton’s player to the limit in an exhilarating showdown. After an intense and skillful back-and-forth, the Seawolves claimed the final point. Both players displayed exceptional talent and produced a high level of exciting, versatile tennis.

In the end, Groton emerged victorious with an 8-1 win.
