Beautiful win at home against Milton

In a match that featured two long-time ISL boys tennis rivals, Groton came out ahead in a very well-played contest. The day could not have started off better, as Groton swept the doubles, including a dramatic victory by Nico Davidoff and Gabe Scholl in a tie-breaker at #3.  Meanwhile MacGregor Beatty and Sam Girian continued their winning ways in the number one spot, while Captain Michael You and Aaron Jin were victorious at two.  Once singles began, Groton extended the lead, as Sam Girian won two decisive sets at 3 and Aaron Jin did the same at #5.  Milton made a match of it by sweeping #4 and winning the first sets at #1 and #6.  However, Michael You won his first set, Gabe Scholl came back to win his second at #6, and #1 player MacGregor Beatty won his second set. When the scores were tallied, Groton ended up a victor by a score of 10-5.  Said Coach Conner "It was a fitting final home match for this team.  With great leadership by Michael You, the boys arrived determined to play their best. I was thrilled to see the boys play so well, especially against Milton."  St. Mark's will end the ISL season for the boys on Friday.
