Groton 2 - Fay 2

Fay (a co-ed junior boarding school that goes through the 9th grade) played us for the first time ever, as they are just getting their program started. They have a co-ed team, and though ten of their girls played ten of our Thirds girls, they only have 4 boys on the team. Peter Zhang won his match against Fay's number 7, 12-10, 11-1, 11-4. Jarvis Bereday beat Fay's number 3, 10-12, 11-9, 11-7, 12-10. Jack Mclaughlin lost a close match in 5 games: 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 12-10, and 4-11. Sam Girian, who makes his debut as our number one having played squash for only two weeks (he's a tennis player) lost his match to Fay's number one, who also happens to be the Caribbean, and Jamaican National, Champion in his age group. We look forward to many more matches with Fay's team and hope they grown their program and send some of their players our way!
