Varsity Hockey upends RL
"It wasn't our best hockey," Senior Matt Pompa said after the game. "We need to have a better start come Saturday against Rivers. We'll be ready to go."
After a slow first 18 minutes against Rox Latin, the Zebras found their stride and dominated the play for the remaining periods. Adam Hauke '16 and Matt Winter '16 opened up the scoring in the second period. Winter later scored two more goals - completing his hat trick - and leading the way for his teammates. Ace Cowans '15 continued to his stellar performance on the ice picking up 5pts. on the night (1g/4a). Tristan Smith '17 and Mike Brown '16 also picked up goals. A big congrats to Pompa and the defense for their poise throughout the game - helping Pompa to his first shutout of the season.
The Zebras next game is at home against a strong Rivers squad. Puck drops Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm.
