Groton Headmaster Speaks About Mandela on NPR

National Public Radio (NPR) interviewed Headmaster Temba Maqubela about Nelson Mandela and apartheid today on "Here and Now."
Mr. Maqubela fought apartheid in his native South Africa before fleeing persecution and ultimately arriving in the U.S. in 1986 as a political refugee. He grew up in a village 13 miles away from Mandela's and was significantly influenced by the man who would become South Africa's president and a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Mr. Maqubela's grandfather taught Mandela, and his grandmother visited the leader in prison. Hear the full interview here.
