Groton falls to Milton
In the penultimate match of the season, the boys headed to Milton to play one of the better teams this year in the ISL. The doubles started promisingly when Captain Trip Wight and Sam Lu won convincingly at #1. Unfortunately, Groton dropped the other doubles contests, including the exhibition match.
In singles, light rain began to fall, so the boys headed indoors to join a match in progress of the schools' JV squads. The varsity relished the change to cheer on their undefeated JV oompatriots before taking over the courts to continue their own match. Milton prevailed on five of the six courts. Only Sam Lu won at #2, winning beautifully by capturing the third-set tiebreaker, 10-3.
The final match of the season is this Friday against St. Mark's.
