Roxbury Latin defeats Groton, 5-2
Playing on their home courts, Roxbury Latin played some very fine tennis, defeating Groton by a score of 5-2. It was the boys first dual match loss since 2019. Their last loss, in fact, was against Roxbury Latin on these same courts.
Roxbury took the doubles point, defeating the teams of Trip Wight / Griffin Gura and Jack Lionette / Michael Lu. Only Larry Li / Will Vrattos were successful in doubles.
RL continued their strong play by winning at #1, #2, #3, and #4 singles. The final two matches on the courts were won by Groton, with Will Vrattos at #5 winning a ten-point tiebreaker in the third set to secure his match, while Michael Lu won in straight sets at #6.
The team will enjoy some days off for Long Weekend and then continue their 2023 campaign next Wednesday on the road against Tabor.
