Carolyn Chica is an associate director of Admission and the co-director of the Cultural Alliance. Before working at Groton, Carolyn taught science at both the Hewitt School in New York City and at Prep for Prep, a leadership development program that offers promising students of color access to a private school education. Carolyn holds a BS from Stony Brook University and an MA in teaching from Brooklyn College.
Increasing access to education for students of all backgrounds is a passion for Carolyn, one thatfuels her admissions work. Carolyn grew up in Queens and is a first-generation Colombian-American; she is the first member of her family to graduate from college in the United States. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys watching documentaries, playing cards, and traveling.
