| | | | Did You Know? The Groton School Quarterly got its start in 1922 as the school's alumni magazine. In the publication's early years, it was edited by a graduate; the first was Charlton MacVeagh 1920, a college senior and the editor-in-chief of the Harvard Crimson. After a succession of fellow graduate editors, by 1935 the magazine's responsibility landed on campus and was edited by a Groton master. According to the school's first history book, Fifty Years On, "it has had a vigorous and active life under changing boards and at times has equalled in interest and thought-provokingness the best periodicals on the market." Subsequent editors have included Junie O'Brien, Doug Brown, John Tyler, John MacEachern, John Niles, and Gail Friedman.
