Groton 7 - St. Sebastian's 0 PLUS, a turtle sighting!
The boys varsity tennis team traveled to St. Sebastian's this afternoon and returned victorious by a 7-0 score. The boys played quite well, both in singles and doubles. The teams of Trip Wight / Griffin Gura, Michael Lu / Sam Lu, and Miles Zhang / Charlie Stubbs all won decisively. In singles, Trip, Griffin, Michael, Sam, Thaddaeus Flatz-Ehrfeld and Miles all beat their opponents.
An unexpected visitor, a beautiful little turtle, slowly crawled onto Miles's court during his singles match, prompting a short time-out in which Coach Conner snapped a picture. The turtle was moved to the sidelines, before it disappeared after the match. A nearby river is the likely route of its escape from the tennis world.
The boys will continue their ISL schedule on Patriots Day at home against Lawrence Academy.
