BYSO CAMP
Mia '28

Every year, I head to Sidney, Maine, for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras’ annual summer camp, one of my favorite events of the summer! This August, along with David '28, Liv '26, and Amy '29, I traveled there for my third year at camp. I spent a week rehearsing challenging pieces with the Repertory Orchestra, including The Ride of the Valkyries (Wagner), Romanian Rhapsody No. 1 (Enescu), and Capriccio Italien (Tchaikovsky). Each day was filled with five hours of music-making in instrument sectionals, chamber music groups, and whole-orchestra rehearsals. I enjoyed the remaining free time frolicking around campus with my friends, eating away at our enormous stash of snacks, and bathing in the beautiful sunshine of Sidney. I look forward to coming back to Maine next year!
