Advisory Dinner
On Tuesday, I walked to one of my favorite places on campus: the house of my advisor, Dr. Lanier!
Every term, Dr. Lanier invites her advisees over for a dinner she makes just for us. She lives on the Groton campus, right behind the dorms, so (aside from the dinner itself) my favorite part is the short walk to and from her house with my fellow advisees! With only five students, our advisory is relatively small, but I like it because we are all friends with one another.
We talk and laugh over a delicious dinner, usually consisting of scrumptious pasta, bread, and greens. We love talking about music and planning potential advisory music performances since all of us are musical in different ways. Dr. Lanier herself is an amazing singer, and she likes to joke that the five of us make up a string quartet plus an oboe. She is like a second mother to me, and I love the coziness and warmth of her house. As the dinner wraps up, we engage in the tradition of sipping hot tea over brownies at the end of the meal!
