A WEEK IN WASHINGTON
Mia '28

Early this August, I flew to Seattle, Washington, for a vacation with my family. On the first day, we enjoyed the breathtaking views atop Mount Rainier after a grueling hike and celebrated with the sweetest cherries we had ever tasted.
I also reunited with my friend from Seattle, Rebecca ‘29, whom I went to middle school with! We visited the Space Needle, the Chihuly Glass Museum, and several markets along the Seattle coastline, all the while catching up on each other’s lives and chatting about Groton. After a busy day of exploring the city, our reunion culminated with a delicious hot-pot dinner.
My family and I also spent a night “glamping” in the forests of the Olympic National Park, where we watched the sunset, hiked through mossy forests, and visited the nearby town of Forks.
