A DAY-in-the-life
As a member of Groton’s rare day student population, my daily schedule is different from my peers. Here is what my day-in-the-life as a day student looks like:
6:45-7:00 a.m.: Wake up and get ready.
7:00-7:15 a.m.: Eat breakfast and prepare my bag for school.
7:20 a.m.: Depart from my home in Westford—my commute to school usually takes around 20 minutes. Timing is crucial: if I leave too early or late, I find myself stuck behind a school bus the entire way to school. As we drive, I enjoy the sunny scenery and foliage, and passing by turkeys on my way is also not a rare occurrence!
7:45 a.m.: Arrive at school - if I am early, I like to head to the Dining Hall to hang out with my friends before Chapel.
8:00 a.m.: My school day starts!
3:15 a.m.: Classes are done for the day—I head to my sport/afternoon activity (I do art in Fall, robotics in Winter, and crew in Spring), stopping by my dorm in Hundred House for a quick snack or change of clothes.
5:00 a.m.: Dinner time! I either depart school and head home for dinner, or I head to the school dining hall (can’t miss out on the good food!)
Evenings are often usually filled with fun activities like Parlor, sit-down dinners, Circle Talks, Saturday dances, and annual events like Casino and Trivia Night. I love staying on campus for these events, and day students also enjoy the opportunity to sleep over in the dorm on Saturdays!
