Terms of Use

The following terms and conditions govern use of the Groton School web sites (“Sites”), online directories (“Directories”), and applications (“Applications”) owned or controlled by Groton School, including the main Groton website, www.groton.org (the Site), hosted by Finalsite, and any and all applications that we make available for use, referred to individually or collectively as the/our “Services”. 

Use of Online Directory Information
Information accessible through the Directories owned or controlled by Groton School may be used only for official school and alumni association purposes, and also for individual communication of a personal nature between members listed in the Directories. Users are strictly prohibited from using any information from the Directories for commercial, public, or political purposes of any nature whatsoever, or for any inappropriate or illegal activities.

Conduct on the School’s Sites and Directories
The following conduct is prohibited on the school’s Sites, Directories, and/or any Applications offered by the school: any conduct which restricts or inhibits others users from enjoying use of the services; vulgar, obscene, or offensive language or images; abusive, defamatory, profane or threatening language or images; misrepresentations or any fraudulent statements; reproducing and storing in a retrieval system by any means, electronic or mechanical, photocopying, or use of telephone numbers, addresses, or other information contained in the directories for any commercial, public or political purposes; any activity that might be harmful to the school Sites or data stored on it, or other computers that are connected to it; and unauthorized use of any copyrighted or trademarked material.

In the event that a user becomes aware of any misuse associated with any Services, the user shall promptly notify the school of such misuse.

Restrictions on Use of Sites, Applications, and Directories
Groton School may determine in its sole discretion whether a user’s use of the Sites, Applications, and Directories violates these Terms of Use, and may prohibit a user from any further access to the Applications or Directories.

No Representations or Warranties
Groton School does not represent or warrant that the information contained on its Sites, Applications, or Directories is complete, accurate, or reliable, or that it operates free from errors or computer viruses. Groton School disclaims any and all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. Groton School expressly disclaims any and all liability associated with a user’s use of our Services, including any incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Indemnification
Users of the Sites, Applications, or Directories agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Groton School and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all losses, claims, and damages of any kind that arise out of your use of our Services.

Revision of Terms of Use
Groton School reserves the right to revise these Terms of Use in its sole discretion. Your initial and continued use of the Sites, Applications, and/or Directories indicates your consent to abide by any modifications to the Terms of Use. Please review the Terms of Use on a regular basis to be familiar with any such changes.

Changes to Groton School’s Terms of Use
This Terms of Use policy may be amended from time to time. Any such changes will be posted on this page.
