Crosstown rivalry 2-4

Beautiful day across town after lots of rainy, raw weather. As readers may have noticed, it’s hard to write about another loss game after game, but there were some very bright spots in today’s game. Lawrence went up by two goals in less than six minutes which turned out to be costly, but Groton took a time out, and things improved considerably. Solid defense, some very good passing and use of the field, effective attack, and numerous shots were the hallmarks of the afternoon. Freddie Tobeason played her best game of the season, at times at mid, at times on the front line, scoring one goal and setting up the second. Groton had two goals called back, and the Lawrence goalie demonstrated some pretty impressive butterfly saves, straight from the hockey rink.
