Great result on PW

On a beautiful fall day, the Groton thirds used their strength in numbers to defeat Cushing 4-2 in front of a good crowd of parents and siblings. Walker opened the scoring in the 23rd minute on a great play down the left flank; Jack E made a strong run and played a good ball to George, who served in to Walker for the finish. In the 27th minute a tremendous individual effort in the opposite corner left Groton's defenders watching as a Cushing player danced through to tie the game. Just 2 minutes later, Charlie D scored a great goal on a pass from Zidane to put the home side up again. The second half played out similarly, with Groton getting goals on either side of a Cushing tally. Aidan scored in the 9th minute for us, and a great run by a Cushing player earned them another goal in the 12th. Rufus finished the scoring in the 25th minute on a nice individual effort, beating the keeper short side. It will be fun to see how we do Wednesday when the numbers are reversed at Cushing.
