Rivers Runs Away with Victory

Rivers scored three goals in the first 20 minutes, putting the Zebras on their heals for most of the match. Groton responded with a goal by Lily Delaney to cut the lead to 3-1 but another Rivers goal made it 4-1 at the half. Rivers added a fifth goal early in the second half and made it 6-1 with less than two minutes remaining in the match. The Groton players showed resilience and character in defeat, at times playing some of their best soccer of the season. Groton (1-6) hosts Thayer on Wednesday.
