Congratulations to Rajit Khanna, Anna Thorndike, and Aidan Reilly on being this spring's first Athletes Of the Week!!!
Rajit Khanna—Boys JV Lacrosse

“With only two practices remaining before our opening game and with no one having volunteered to play goalie for the JV squad, Rajit approached us with an interest in trying lacrosse for the first time. An experienced goalie in soccer, his athleticism and courage have allowed him to adapt swiftly to his new sport. He and his teammates have experienced lopsided defeats in their first two games, but in both contests, his solid play has staked us to early leads. Thanks to Rajit for taking on what many call the most difficult position in any sport.  We expect that his continued progress will lead to quite a few wins as the season progresses.”-- Coaches Fry and Funnell

Anna Thorndike—Girls Varsity Lacrosse
“Anna scored the winning goal in our game against LA in the last 7 seconds. It was her 5th goal of the game, and after being on the field for the entire game it took incredible determination and hustle to get to the net and score. But more important than a single win, Anna has been instrumental in the early weeks of the season with her communication skills and leadership. Her willingness and ability to play all over the field make her a true asset to the team, and we are very excited to see what she will do with the rest of the season.” – Coach Giles and Dumont

Aidan Reilly-- JV Baseball

“Aidan pitched 5 excellent and highly efficient innings in our opening game against Governor’s Academy, allowing 3 runs (2 earned), with 3 strikeouts, 3 hits, and no walks.  He was ahead in the count all game long, keeping their hitters off balance, and was able to work around four errors to keep us in the game almost singlehandedly.  In our game against CMS, he came up with a key RBI single and played strong defense in left field.”—Coach Bannard and Mazzaferro
