Girls Soccer MVP Signs at Division 1 University

Dorrie Varley-Barrett '15 has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play soccer at Boston University next year.
Dorrie has captained Groton's girls soccer team for the past two years. This fall she scored 12 goals and had nine assists, leading a team that clinched the New England championship title. Dorrie has started on the team for five years, since she began at Groton as a Second Former (eighth grader).

Over the years, Dorrie won Independent School League (ISL) accolades. She was All-ISL for three consecutive years and All-State this year. This year she also was named the team’s MVP; she had shared the MVP designation during her sophomore and junior seasons.

The National Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a student-athlete and an institution that commits the student to attend and commits the school to provide a scholarship.

Dorrie also plays club soccer for FC Stars of Massachusetts. An all-around athlete, she is also a member of the varsity ice hockey and lacrosse teams at Groton.

Congratulations Dorrie!
