You Didn't Want to Catch A Bus, Did You?

(21-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-16, 11-15)

This was the strongest performance by the zebra spikers yet—and against arguably the best team we've faced. Every aspect of Groton's play was strong:
  • serving, with shout outs to Maddy Son (V), Alicia Guo (II), Hutshie Faugas (VI), and Leah Pothel (V)
  • hitting, with shout outs to Rachel McMenemy (VI), Amelia Lee (IV), Chioma Ilozor (VI), Sobenna Egwuekwe (IV), Alicia, and Leah
  • setting, with a big shout out to Maddy (with some back-up help from Rachel, Alicia, and Chioma)
  • passing, with shout outs to Annabel Lee (V), Rachel, and Chioma
  • blocking, with shout outs to Rachel and Chioma
  • and more...
Judging by the spread of names above, it should be apparent that the zebras played as a team. Best of all, they had a great time doing it. The last set did not go our way, sadly, but had it gone on any longer we may not have gotten the buses out on time (ish).

A special thanks to our manager, Ronan Doherty (V), who did the job of two people (both the book and the scoreboard) to work for the first four hours of his Long Weekend. And big hugs to Naomi-Erin Boateng (IV) and Yumin Shivdasani (VI) for their (loud!) wholehearted support.
