JV Tops Brooks

Nice win for the boys over Brooks, a low scoring affair that few would have predicted after the way the game started.  Brooks won the opening face-off and their center middie ran straight down the field untouched and rifled a shot in with only thirteen seconds elapsed.  Unfazed, after a Groton face-off win, Jack Ehrgott scored to knot the game only 7 seconds later. Quick calculations predicted that such a pace would translate to a score of 120-120 headed into overtime, but defenses on both sides buckled down significantly.  Brooks scored another first period goal to lead after one frame, but that was it for the Bison as Groton's defense stifled the Brooks attack. Meanwhile Ehrgott scored his second and Hugh Carlin accounted for the rest of the scoring en route to a 4-2 win.
