Groton falls to Nobles

A strong pitching performance by Josh Nam and AJ Colarusso wasn’t enough as Groton fell to Noble and Greenough School 4-0. Nobles loaded the bases in the first two innings, but Nam limited the damage to a single sacrifice fly in the second. In the third, Nobles took advantage of a Groton throwing error to tack on three unearned runs, but Nam and Colarusso combined to set Nobles down in order in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to keep the game in reach.

Groton threatened at a few points but was unable to come up with the big hit to get on the board. Ziggy Bereday had three hits after entering in the second inning as an injury replacement, and Drew Burke and Shane Kim each reached twice on a hit and a walk.

Groton falls to 3-3 in the ISL and 4-4 overall with the loss; they will take on Brooks back at home this coming Wednesday.
