A memorable day in the rink

This game had a little bit of everything, including the first time playing somewhat outside for a number of our girls. Holderness jumped out to an early lead, but chances were even both ways. Lidia opened the scoring for us with her first career goal, tying the game partway through the first. Gracie scored the next one, and Lilly also scored before the end of the first, sending us to intermission with a 3-1 lead. The second period started evenly, until a Holderness player sniped the top corner to get the score back to 3-2. Chances were again even, and the playlist vacillated between Disney and college party during stoppages. Gracie scored again to give us some breathing room. Then Ayanda's Tuuk exploded, leaving plastic shards and the blade in the zone while she crawled to the bench. Holderness scored again to bring the hosts back within one, and that's how the second period ended. Lilly scored her second of the game about halfway through the third, giving us a 2 goal cushion again, and Katie finished the scoring for us. Our girls passed really well today, and they also showed good anticipation, breaking up Holderness passes and plays repeatedly. The energy level was great, and both teams seemed to have fun throughout the game.
